Best way to get to Cap Hasteras from New York

I must go to Cap Hatteras to have a kite surfing course.

What would be the best way to get there the fastest?

To Cape Hatteras on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I'd say fly to Norfolk or Newport News Virginia, and rent a car there. It should be a 2-3 hour drive. Otherwise, try flying to Raleigh Durham.

If you have no reason to be in New York, then check out flying from a border city in the US. Since you're in Montreal, check JetBlue from Burlington, Vermont to Raleigh Durham, or if you can get closer to Boston, Check on flights on Southwest from Manchester, New Hampshire.

I get a car and could drive in two parts:

Montreal > Dover and Dover Avon cap hatteras. I planned to stop driving and sleep to Dover and in the morning take back the drive to Cap hetteras.

My concern is the money/time i will spendthe trip: fot the gas; aroud 300$ for the trip Montreal-Avon-Montreal. Add the price of the hotel and i get around 400$ for 20 hours driving trip. On the back i can doit non-stop drving.

For the same price or close to is there ANOTHER WAY??
