I thought they were supposed to be modifying those machines so they would somehow mask out any features. Not really sure that'll work mind you, but it'll no doubt be scrapped when they discover that figleaves stop the x-rays. Smile

Last thing i heard is that they can see everything BUT that the person that checks the screen can't see the person that go's in to the machine.

Those machines (called back-scatter technology) are being tested in Phoenix. What you may not know, probably because there's less hype, is that these kinds of machines have been used at some locations at Heathrow for a couple of years.

The cartoon to me ,was not about what they could see BUT what you take on ..hence the fig leaf plot ,... thats the scarey bit as it will only take a plot involving a pair of jeans or a dress and we all stuffed !!!

There was an ad in Australia a few years ago with a man going through screening, each time he beeps and he has to return and take something else off. It was either an underwear or jeans ad, and at the end it shows one of the security women with a remote device that would cause the detector to alarm.

I bet someone can find it on youtube. Paul.

I've just posted about Silverjet. They have no queues! They have their own security and check-in arrangements at Luton and Newark (that's the only route they're doing at the moment) and I saved a lot of time, not to mention grey hairs, avoiding the usual crush and commotion of security etc.. It was very refreshing. Remember how it used to be years ago before all the new security scares? More like that. They also have a really cool lounge at Luton where you can have breakfast before your flight, It was designed by Dunhill. All very pleasant and civilised.
