Skansen Zoo
This zoo is part of the large open-air museum called Skansen in Stockholm, and has a wide variety of animals.

Skoklosters Palace
The Skoklosters Palace is one of the grandest royal palaces in all of Sweden, with its white plastered stone façade and four round corners being particularly distinctive features. Another highlight of the palace is the jousting tournament held in the summer at the palace.

Stadshuset
Known originally for its giant pipe organ containing over 10,000 pipes and 138 stops, the town hall of Stockholm is also home to the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Used for various ceremonies and official purposes, the building has a number of excellent architectural features.

Steninge Castle
Steninge Castle is located just north of Lake Mälaren and was built in the 17th century. Although not the grandest of castles from the outside, it has more exhibits inside than most other royal buildings.

Stockholm Aquarium
This excellent aquarium is the biggest such facility in the city of Stockholm, and is located next to the famous Vasa Museum. There are exhibits of marine life from all over the world, ranging from large catfish in the rainforest exhibit to other pools of sharks and tropical fish.

Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival
This is one of the most important beer festivals in the world, and is only rivalled by the likes of the London Beer Festival and Oktoberfest in Munich. The event is held over three days, usually in late September of each year in the Factory Nacka Strand.

Stockholm City Theatre
This is the biggest theatre institution in the whole of Scandinavia, and it is well known for hosting some of the top actors and actresses in the world. In fact, one of the main influences behind the theatre was the world-renowned director Ingmar Bergman.

Stockholm Observatory Museum
The headquarters of the Royal Swedish Academy of sciences set up in this hill-top observatory after its inception in the 1740’s, although the site is now a museum.
|
Stockholm Olympic Stadium
The Stockholm Olympic Stadium has a proud history, and was originally created for the 1912 Olympic Games. Although the stadium has been undergoing renovations over the last few years, it is extremely well preserved and still hosts sporting events of all kinds.

Storkyrkan Church
Built in the 13th century, Storkyrkan Church is the oldest congregational church in the city of Stockholm. The church is used for Royal coronations and marriages, and has many interesting features.
