Gripsholm Castle
Located on the shore of Lake Mälaren, Gripsholm Castle is one of the most beautiful in Sweden. It was the castle of Gustav Vasa, and was originally commissioned way back in 1537. Apart from its grand design, the castle is also well known for its huge collection of portrait paintings.

Gröna Lund
One of Sweden’s most popular attractions is this theme park, which is the oldest in the country. It has been around since 1883 and has been run by the same family throughout this time.

History museum
If you want to see Swedish and Viking artefacts from the Stone Age right the way up to the 16th century, then this is the place to go. This is the country’s biggest archaeological museum, and has plenty of impressive historical exhibitions.

Ice Gallery
Linked to the Ice Hotel in northern Sweden, the Ice Gallery is a collection of striking ice sculptures and ice designs. Located in the centre of Gamla Stan, there is plenty to see.

Kaknäs communications tower
The views from the Kaknäs tower are breathtaking, and being the tallest building in Scandinavia they stretch an awfully long way. Designed by Bengt Lindroos and Hans Bonström, it is the home of Sweden’s radio and television broadcasts.

Konserthuset
This venue has a capacity of 1,800 seats and has been the main home of the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1926. Hosting concerts all year round, the venue contains both the Main Hall and the Grünewald Hall for smaller concerts and events.

Kungliga Hovstallet (The Royal Mews)
The Royal Mews, or Kungliga Hovstallet, are used now to take care of the royal family’s horses, carriages and cars. There are some great items on show here, including over 40 carriages from the last few hundred years and modern vehicles.

Kungstradgården
Originally a vegetable garden for the old royal family, the area is now one of the best green space parks in the city, and has won praise worldwide.

Lars Bohman Gallery
The Lars Bonham gallery is a name synonymous with contemporary art in Stockholm. The venue is one of the most well-respected galleries in the city, and has exhibitions from both Swedish and foreign contemporary artists.
|
Museum of Junibacken
If you have children, then this is the place to take them in Stockholm. It is a museum dedicated to children, and provides hours of fun for the younger generation.
