Andréhn-Schiptjenko Gallery   
This gallery opened in 1991 and has fast become one of the leading centres for contemporary art. It manages to get the very best in contemporary art to exhibit, which means for all modern art lovers it is a must-see venue.

Bellmanhuset   
The Bellmanhuset is the last home of the Swedish song writing legend Carl Bellman. Bellman is known for his collection of songs about the drunkards and women of the night who used to populate the Södermalm area of the city.

Berwaldhallen   
Created in 1979 for the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Radio Choir, this venue is now a vital part of the Swedish classical music scene. The hall is modernist in design, and is striking in the fact that it is mainly underground.

Birka Museum   
Located on Bjorko Island, Birka Museum is a place frozen in time. Originally a trading post during Viking Times, there has been a settlement here for well over 1000 years.

City Hall Tower   
The City Hall Tower can be accessed separately from the rest of the building, and is a great place to climb and see amazing views of the city.

Confidencen Theatre   
This is one of the most historical theatres in the country, and is in fact Sweden’s oldest theatre. Located in Drottningholm, there are weekly shows of opera and ballet. However, if you don’t fancy seeing a performance you can still admire the beautiful architecture.

Drottningholms Castle   
The Drottningholms Castle is a grand castle belonging to the Royal Family in Sweden. Combining a mixture of styles and influences, the front is modelled on the Palace of Versailles. This part of the building was designed by Tessin the Elder, the royal architect of the time.

Drottningholms Castle Theatre   
This theatre is located at the Drottningholms Castle, and was built in the 18th century after being commissioned by Queen Lovisa Ulrika. It is the oldest working theatre in the world, and still has the original stage sets and hand-driven machinery.

Folkoperan   
The Folkoperan opened in 1976 and along with the Kungliga Operan is the top opera house in Stockholm. The main season of performances runs from September to May, with a wide range of styles on offer.

Globen   
The Globen is a stadium in Stockholm famed for its futuristic design and the fact it can be seen from many places in the city. Located in the south of the city, the multi-purpose venue is home to tennis, ice hockey and handball.
