Serranos Towers
Overlooking the bed of the River Turia, the Serranos Towers were built in the late 14th Century as the northern gate to the medieval Christian city. For three hundred years from the late 16th Century, the towers served as a prison.

Spanish Village
Poble Espanyol was laid out for the 1929 International Exhibition on Montjuic as a life sized village illustrating the architecture of different areas of Spain. St Andrew`s Chapel
This Mudejar chapel was founded in the 16th Century by Gutierrez Gonzalez who was treasurer to the Pope and consequently had many privileges. The chapel`s most precious feature is the delicate, gilded wrought iron screen by Master Bartolome of Jaen.

Tavira Tower
Cadiz is known for its many watchtowers. In the 18th Century the tallest was the Torre Tavira, and it was the official lookout post. The tower can be visited and from its terrace are superb, panoramic views of the city and beaches.

Templo de Debod
Dedicated to the gods Ammon and Isis, the Temple of Debod was once situated on the shores of the Nile. It was donated to Spain in gratitude for the help in rescuing monuments threatened by floods as a result of building the Aswan High Dam on the River Nile.

The Bell Tower
Located near the Town Hall, the El Campanario del Fadri is a 190 feet high octagonal bell tower, built between the 15th and 18th centuries. It is an important symbol of the city.

The Castle of Denia
The Castle of Denia is located at the top of a hill in the centre of the town. This much restored castle has remains from several historical periods, including Muslim porticos and towers, and walls from the 14th Century old palace.

The Church of San Pedro
The Church of San Pedro was first built in the 15th Century and, after various changes and reforms, it was destroyed in August 1936 during the Civil War. Ten years later, the present church was built to the plans designed by Oviedo architects Francisco and Federico Somolinos.
