Real Maestranza Bullring
The Real Maestranza is the name for the Seville bullring, the most important in Spain together with the Madrid bullring. It was built over a period of 120 years, and started in 1730.

Roman Baths
The Campo Valdes Roman Baths were first discovered in 1903, but they were only partially excavated. Excavation started again in 1990, and they are now open to the public. The museum tour starts with a film, and various models and drawings about Roman baths are on display.

San Ildefonso Church
This majestic church dates from the 14th Century and it is the home of Jaen`s patron saint, the Virgen de la Capilla, whose statue is in a special chapel. The church has been remodelled several times in different styles and has Gothic, Renaissance and neo-Clasical facades.

Santa Catalina Headland
The Santa Catalina Headland is now a park for the enjoyment of all, but in the past it was a Ministry of Defence property used for military manoeuvres. Back in the 17th Century, a fort protected the promontory from foreign invasion.

Santa Maria Basilica
Standing in a square below the Santa Barbara Castle, the Santa Maria Basilica dates back to the 14th Century when it was built on the site of a former mosque. The facade is 18th Century baroque.

Santa Maria Cathedral Restoration Project
The Santa Maria Cathedral Restoration Project offers visitors a unique opportunity to view the restoration work being carried out on this 13th Cantury Gothic cathedral. For many centuries, the cathedral has been having subsidence problems, and an archaeological and retoration project is in progress.

Santa Maria la Mayor Church
The Santa Maria la Mayor Church stands on the site of Ronda`s former main mosque. A minaret remains from the 13th Century mosque and inside the church`s entrance is an arch with Arabic inscriptions. The church was built over several centuries and reflects several distinctive styles.

Santiago Cathedral
Magnificent, medieval Santiago Cathedral, with its soaring twin towers, was an important place of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages. The relics of Christ`s apostle James are said to have been discovered in AD 813 on the site.
