ARCAM
The Architechture Centre of Amsterdam (ARCAM) moved to a new building near Centraal Station in 2003. ARCAM holds six exhibitions each year related to architects, new buildings, and urban developments in and around Amsterdam. ARCAM also organize tours and lectures related to architecture.

Aalsmeer Flower Auction
Flower Auction Aalsmeer (Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer) moved to its current premises on the 28th February 1972. This site is the world’s largest central trade building – sprawling over a space equal to around 145 football fields. Over 11,000 different varieties of plants are stored and auctioned here.

Aalsmeer Historical Gardens
The Aalsmeer Historical Gardens is a living horticultural museum, and it charts the development of horticulture in the town of Aalsmeer, from the arboriculture of the 17th century to the cultivation of shrubs, ornamental trees and ancient roses.

Aboriginal Art Museum
A group of Aboriginal art enthusiasts set up an association in 1999 which created the foundation for the Aboriginal Art Museum. The museum opened in March 2001, and celebrates the diversity of Australian Aboriginal art.

Adrie Moerings Pottery & Pipe Museum
The Adrei Moerings Pottenbakkerij & Pijpenmakerij (Pottery and Pipemaker) is a museum and factory rolled into one. Located just a five minute walk from Markt, the Pottery and Pipe Museum gives visitors a chance to see in person how traditional pottery and clay pipes are made.

Aike van Stien Museum
The Museum “Aike van Stien” is a small fishing museum at the back of a shop on Raadhuisstraat. The museum is devoted to the recent history of the fishing industry on the island of Terschelling.

Airborne Museum
The former Hotel Hartenstein acted as the headquarters of the British 1st Airborne Division during the Battle of Arnhem, now remembered as ’A bridge too far’.

Alkmaar Municipal Museum
Alkmaar’s Municipal Museum (Stedelijk Musem) is housed in a building that was formally the 17th Century headquarters of St Sebastiaans Schutterij (the Marksmen’s Guild). The Marksmen’s guild acted as the town guard from the 14th century up until the beginning of the 19th century.

Allard Pierson Museum
The Allard Pierson Museum is the archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam, and is named after their first professor of Classical Archaeology.

American Pilgrim Museum
The Leiden American Pilgrim Museum is based in a beautifully preserved house dating back to 1375. The museum tells the stories of the founders of New England, with collections that examine everything from pottery and table settings, to armour, weaponry, and medicines.
