The Church of St Nicholas
The Church of St Nicholas dates from the 13th Century when it was built for the Roth Basilica. At the time, and until the 18th Century, this part of Vianden was in the parish of Roth. St Nicholas`s Church was severely damaged by fire in 1723, but it was soon rebuilt.

The Church of St Peter and St Paul
Perched on a hill in Echternach, the Church of St Peter and St Paul is sited on Roman remains and it has a 46 foot well that dates from that period. Part of the church`s foundations are from the Merovingian age.

The Dancing Procession
This religious event takes place every year on Whit Tuesday in honour of St Willibrord. It is unique to Echternach and dates back hundreds of years. Thousands of pilgrims from the region participate and it attracts as many spectators.

The Family of Man Exhibition
Clervaux Castle is now home to the great photographic project of Edward Steichen. Born in Luxembourg in 1879, he was a small child when his family moved to the United States.

The Fish Market
Located at the former crossroads of two Roman roads, the Fish Market is the centre of the old town of Luxembourg. This is where the first markets were held. Historically important buildings surround the square. Every Easter Monday, Emmaischen is celebrated here.

The Wenzel Walk
This outstanding, cultural circular itinerary has another name - `1000 years in 100 minutes`, but it is not a route to be hurried. The route is named after Wenceslas 11, the Duke of Luxembourg who fortified the city.

The Wiltz Festival
This annual month long event in the north of Luxembourg is one of the most important cultural events in the Grand Duchy. Since 1953, it has taken place in the month of July in an outdoor ampitheatre in Wiltz Castle grounds.

Thermal Park
This delightful park of more than 40 hectares is an ideal place for relaxation. It is the park of the Domaine Thermal of Mondorf-les-Bains and the old thermal baths are located near the entrance to the park.

Three Towers
The Three Towers are remains of the old fortress marking the extent of the old town of Luxembourg. The square central section is the oldest part of the gate and dates from the 12th Century. At one time, the towers were used as a prison.

Town Hall
The Town Hall is one of the oldest buildings in Vianden, and records for its use as a local government building date from 1469. At one time, it was occupied by the noble families Ziewel and Veyder.
