Novotel Luxembourg

Nut Market
Every year, on the second Sunday of the month of October, a nut market is held in the streets of Vianden. The district has a long history of nut production, and in the past, one fifth of all the nut trees in Luxembourg grew in Vianden`s orchards.

Oktave
The Oktave is the main religious event in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and it lasts from the third to the fifth Sunday after Easter.

Old Church of Saint Laurence
This ancient church was built on the site of a Roman villa. It is now classed as an historical monument. There was a cemetery around it between the 10th and 18th Centuries. In the 1460s, the church was given two naves.

Old Cloth Factory
The old textile factory shares its building with the information centre for the Natural Park of the Upper Sure. There is a great collection of old looms and other machines for making textiles and some of them date from the mid 19th Century.

Open Air Folklore Museum
The Open Air Folklore Museum can be seen in the small village of Schwebsingen, south of Wellenstein. There are wine presses from the 13th Century and a fountain of the wine children. Also of interest is the ancient trough and a Gallo-Roman sarcophagus.

Our Lady of Fatima Cavalry
This place of pilgrimage was constructed after the end of the Second World War when a number of Portuguese immigrants settled in Luxembourg. It was the fulfillment of a vow made during the war by Dean Prosper Colling.

Parc Merveilleux
Located a few miles from the French border, this is a family attraction with lots for young children to see and do. A variety of animals, exotic birds and reptiles can be seen.

Passerelle Viaduct
Luxembourg city is situated on a number of hills separated by steep valleys containing rivers. One of its most important bridges is this viaduct built between 1859 and 1861, before the demolition of Luxembourg`s fortress. It crosses the Petrusse Valley at a height of about 100 feet and has 24 arches.
