Mersch Castle
Dating from the 12th Century, Mersch Castle has a long history. At one time it had a moat. The Burgundians destroyed the fortress in the 1450s and, after it was rebuilt, the Dutch attacked the castle in 1603. After another rebuilding, it was destroyed again in 1635.

Meysembourg castle
Surrounded by parklands and lovely wooded countryside, dazzling Meysembourg Castle is an easy walk from Larochette. The present castle was built in the 1880s on the site of an earlier fortress. This earlier castle was attacked several times, then rebuilt in 1711, but nothing remains of it except a chapel.
