Church of the Teutonic Knights
The modestly sized but elegant Deutschordenkirche was built in 1739 to the plans of the great Baroque architect Lukas von Hildebrandt by the master builder Johann Michael Prunner.

City Art Gallery
GIGA - Galerie Im GemeindeAmt first opened in 1987 in the municipal offices in Haid. The intention was to provide a gallery which one the one hand would display works by amateur and local artists and on the other hand to present works by established artists.

City Hall
The Gothic style Neues Rathaus, Vienna’s municipal administration centre, was designed by German architect Friedrich Schmidt, and was completed in 1883.

City Museum
The Stadtmuseum Nordico contains the Linz city and regional museum. The collections document the history, archaeology, art, culture and development of the region and Linz in particular. There are frequent special exhibitions on diverse topics.

City Park
The 65,000 sq. metres of the Stadtpark opened in 1862 and was designed by court painter Joseph Selleny and garden director Rudolf Siebeck. Various changes, including a cast-iron pavilion and the Children’s park, meant that the final layout was not completed until 1872.

City Theatre
The elegantly simple city theatre with its saddle roof was built as a church for Capuchin monks in 1624. The building had a chequered history being used as a store place for guns and as Braunau’s slaughterhouse until 1835 when it became a theatre and home for Braunau’s theatre company.

Clock Museum
Housed in one of Vienna’s oldest houses, the ‘Harfenhaus’ (Harpist’s House), this clock museum displays a wide range of items ranging from the 15th century to modern day.

Collection of Arms and Armour
Crossbows, swords, helmets, pistols, and other armour are on display in the Hofjgad- und Rüstkammer, which lays claim to one of the best collections of armour in the world.

Collection of Early Musical Instruments
Containing numerous instruments once played by famous musicians and composers, including Haydn and Beethoven, this is one of the most important collections of Renaissance instruments in the world. Some of the more unusual exhibits include a dragon-shaped shawm, a vertically strung clavicytherium and a quadruple music stand.

Column of Mary
The elegant Mariensäule column, with a figure of the Virgin Mary on top, was erected in the Minoritenplatz Square in front of the church in 1660 and was renovated in 1748.
