Carolino Augusteum Museum   
The Museum Carolino Augusteum is dedicated history of the city and province of Salzburg. It was founded in 1834 and named after the widow of Emperor Franz.

Casino   
The original Casino Salzburg opened in 1934 in the Mirabell Palace but in 1977 moved to the Café Winckler on Mönchsberg, now the site of the Museum of Modern Art. Expansion of the facilities required a further move in 1993 to the present location, the Baroque Klessheim Palace.

Castle Museum   
The Schlossmuseum in the 14th century Freistädter Schloss in the north east of the city has 19,000 exhibits showing the history and culture of the historic free city and the Muehlviertel region.

Catacombes   
The Salzburg catacombs are to be found in the cemetery of the monastery of St. Peter, at the foot of the Mönchsberg.

Cathedral Museum   
Salzburg’s Dommuseum, which was founded in 1974, is situated in the southern oratories of the Cathedral. The exhibits range from the 8th century Carolingian St.

Celtic Museum   
Hallein’s Keltenmuseum is devoted to the history of the Celts and, in particular Celtic influences in Central Europe. The museum’s exhibits describe the coming of the Celts to the region, Celtic civilisation in Central Europe, the final defeat of the Celts and Celtic archaeology.

Cemetery of Grinzing   
This cemetery is the burial place of the composer Gustav Mahler who died in 1911 and was placed beside his daughter.

Cemetery of Hietzing   
The graves of several notable figures are to be found here in the small cemetery of Friedhof Hietzing. As his studio was in Hietzing, Gustav Klimt was buried here in 1918 having died from pneumonia following a fatal stroke.

Cemetery of Ober St. Veith   
This small cemetery boasts the grave of one of Austria’s most famous painters of the early 20th century.

Central Cemetery   
Larger than the entire Innere Stadt of Vienna and with a greater population than the whole of the city, this is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe; over 300,000 graves with in excess of 3 million people having been buried here.
