Vienna International Centre   
As the 3rd official Headquarters of the United Nations, sharing functions with Geneva and New York, this area is known locally as UNO city.

Vienna Planetarium   
The ‘Astro Shows’ of the Vienna Planetarium are something to behold. With a state of the art Star Projector built by the Zeiss, visitors are given an almost life-like laser image projection of over 9,000 denizens of the sky including stars, star clusters, galaxies and nebulas in their real colours.

Vienna Woods   
This 1,000 sq. kilometres of forested hills stretches from the north western tip of Vienna to the foothills of the Alps. Bounded by the Triesting, Gölsen, Traisen and Danube rivers, the hills are the transition from the Eastern Alps to the Carpathians.

Villach Mountain Road   
The Villacher Alpenstraße runs for about sixteen kilometres from Villach up on to the foot of the Dobratsch massif at 1,732 metres. From the highest point of the route it is a two hour hike to the summit.

Village of Altenmarkt   
Altmarkt is an idyllic, traditional village close to the alpine resort of Zauchensee. The folk museum is housed in the Hoamathaus, a beautiful, original, rural ,building, which dates from the early 15th century. The museum offers an insight into the lives and culture in the region in past times.

Volksgarten   
The People’s Garden is situated on the site of the old Burgbastei which was destroyed by Napoleon’s troops in 1809.

Volksprater   
Although this amusement park, reputed to be the oldest in the world, boasts numerous attractions, including several white-knuckle rides as well as more traditional dodgems and ghost trains, it is the Riesenrad which attracts the hoards.

Votivkirche   
The origin of this church derives from a knife-attack on Emperor Franz Joseph by Hungarian nationalist János Libényi in 1853. Following the failed regicide, the church was built on the spot as a Votivgabe (a thank-you present to God) for the rescue of the Emperor.

Wartenfels Castle   
The ruins of Burg Wartenfeld, situated at 1000 metres above sea level on a rocky outcrop with 50 to 100 metre vertical drops on three sides, are possibly in the most spectacular position of any in Austria, with views for miles over the surrounding countryside.

Waterworld Amadé   
Wasserwelt Amadé is a modern water park offering fun for all ages.
