Austrianguide
A short overview of possible guided tours in Austria.

Auto Residence
The unique Autowohnhaus was created by remodelling a 1970’s suburban house in the shape of a Volkswagen beetle.

Bad Gastein Casino
The Casino Bad Gastein is located in the elegant, ‘Belle Epoque’, Grand Hotel de l’Europe. The casino, which is only open during the season, has close links with the origins of casino style gambling in Austria. The first casino opened in 1937 but closed again in 1938.

Bad Gastein Waterfall
The spectacular falls on the Gasteiner Ache are the centrepiece of the town and, despite the worthiness of Bad Gastein’s other attractions, are worth a visit in their own right.

Bathing and Leisure Centre
The Freizeitzentrum, Zell am See’s leisure centre, is an oasis for body, spirit and soul. Here you will find lots of healthy activities under one roof. There is a 25 metre sports pool, a children’s area with a water chute and other attractions, a solarium and sauna.

Beethoven Heiligenstäster Testament
“Oh you men who think or say that I am malevolent, stubborn, or misanthropic, how greatly do you wrong me” began the Heiligenstadt Testament of Ludwig van Beethoven, of which there is a reproduction at this museum, and where the document was written but never sent.

Bell Foundry
Glockengießerhaus, which was built around the year 1385, is the oldest bell foundry in the German speaking countries. The foundry was in production until 1896 and has been preserved in its original state. The building accommodates the local history museum and the historical collections of the regional association “Alt Brauau”.

Benedictine Abbey
The abbey was founded in the 8th century and was destroyed and rebuilt in the 10th century. The Baroque appearance is due to a flourish of building activity in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Bergkirche
As well as having a superb trompe l’œil (trick the eye) mural in its interior and a noteworthy Calvary display, where life-size figures depict the Stations of the Cross, the church is most visited for the Haydn Mausoleum.

Bicycle Museum
The Zweirad Museum is the first Austrian museum to be dedicated to the history of the bicycle and motorcycle, from 1817 to the present day.
