Mozart’s Birthplace
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in the house at Getreidegasse 9, where his family lived on the third floor, on January 27, 1756. The house is now a museum, founded in 1880 by the International Mozart Foundation, and a place of pilgrimage for thousands of tourists each year.

Mozart’s Residence
This, the ‘Tanzmeisterhaus’, was the home of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his family from 1773 to 1780 and during these years here he composed numerous symphonies, serenades and divertimenti and also five concertos for violin and a number of piano concertos.

Municipal Museum
The museum is housed in the 17th century Innerberger Getreidestadel, which was formerly a granary, on the Grünmarkt which leads from the Stadtplatz.

This museum is housed in the Seifensiederhaus, ‘Soap Boilers House’, one of the oldest buildings in Leopoldstadt and dating back to 1685.

Museum of Doll Dreams and Bears
The ’Puppenträume- und Bärenmuseum’, which is housed in 100 year old premises on the north edge of the city, was opened in 1996. The founder of the museum, Monika Parzer, is a collector of modern dolls and has more than 600 on display.

Museum of Ethnology
Opened in 1928 and housed in the ‘Corps de Logis’ part of the Neue Burg, this museum stores and manages thousands of secular and religious artefacts, mainly relating to races that have not used a written language.
