Kniepass Fortress
The Festung Kniepass, which is first mentioned around 1350, was built to control access and trade into the Pinzgau. Today this small fortification, virtually unchanged since the Thirty Years War, can be reached on foot from the base of the rocky crest on which it is built.

Kremsmünster House
This building first belonged to Gotthard von Starhemberg or was possibly bequeathed to him by Holy Roman Emperor Friedrich III who, legend has it, died in this house on August 19th, 1493.

Krimml Water Wonder World
The WasserWunderWelt is an exciting family orientated theme park at the approach to the Krimml Waterfalls. The park consists of the Aqua Centrum or House of Water, the Aqua Park and a multimedia show about the importance of water.

Krimmler Falls
The unmissable Krimmler Wasserfälle are the largest and most spectacular in the entire Alps. Water from a hundred and ten square kilometre catchment area drops a total of 380 metres in three stages with the largest free drop being 65 metres.

KunstHausWien
This museum, formerly a Thonet chair factory, is home to a permanent exhibition of creations by Austrian hippy artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Filled with his fantastical paintings, drawings, ecological and architectural projects, many of which were never built, the collection gives an insight into the philosophy and imagination of the man.

Kunstforum
This gallery is a major attraction for art enthusiasts the world over. Its fame stems from its presentation of visiting exhibitions; displaying artists as diverse as Van Gogh, Cézanne, Kandinsky, Miró, Picasso, Warhol and Lichtenstein but to name a few.

Kunsthalle
Photography, video, film, and new media, as well as more traditional art forms are presented here in this important Viennese centre for contemporary art. Large, subject-specific exhibitions show developments from Modernism to the present-day, along with significant contributions from post-1945 Austrian art.

Kunsthistorisches Museum
Thanks to the Habsburgs this is one of the finest museums in Europe. The building itself, designed by Gottfried Semper and Karl Hausenauer, is a work of art, but along with the fourth largest collection of paintings in the world there are Oriental, Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities and artefacts.

Kunstraum Innsbruck
The 300 sq. metres of the exhibition space within the Kunstraum are dedicated to contemporary art.

Lainzer Tiergarten
Originally conceived as a private hunting ground by Emperor Ferdinand I, the Lainzer Tiergarten became a public nature preserve following the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This is a very popular, and free, place to see wildlife and to relax in beautiful surroundings.
