Hintersee Doll Museum
The enchanting Puppenstubenmuseum is to be found in the Joseph Mohr House, named after the famous composer of the carol ’Silent Night, Holy Night’.

Historical Customs and Finance Collection
This curious, possibly unique, museum is dedicated to society’s bęte noire, the taxman. The revenue men have left a legacy of typewriters, calculating machines, office signs, files, law books, seals and stamps all of which were a part of a custom’s officer’s working life in past times.

Hitler’s Birthplace
Hitler was born in Braunau in 1889 and lived here until the age of three when the family moved to Passau. The street on which the house stands was renamed Adolf-Hitler-Strasse after the Anschluss in 1938 but reverted to its previous identity after the war.

Hofburg
Originally built in the 15th century by Archduke Siegmund the Rich, the Imperial Palace was rebuilt in Baroque style with Rococo detail by architect Johann Martin Gumpp on the orders of Empress Maria Theresa.

Hofburgkapelle and Vienna Boys Choir
Built by Emporer Friedrich III in the 15th century, the Hofburgkapelle contains the Hofmusikkapelle; one of the oldest music institutions in Europe and considered to be one of the first places of music performance in Vienna. Many famous composers were members including Franz Schubert.

Hohe Tauern National Park
Hohe Tauern National Park, the biggest national park in central Europe, covers an area of 1800 square kilometres encompassing a huge variety of individual attractions. Here you will find the highest mountains in Austria, glaciers, waterfalls, wildlife parks and museums.

Hohen Salzburg Fortress Cable Railway
Although the Festung Hohensalzburg Fortress can be reached on foot, the best way to get up the mountain is using the funicular railway, the FestungsBahn, which climbs up a steep track from the Festingsgasse and through the Fortress walls.

Hohensalzburg Fortress
Founded in 1077, Salzburg’s massive Hohensalzburg Fortress is situated in a commanding position, on Festungberg hill, overlooking the city and the Salzach River. It ranks as one of Europe’s largest and best preserved mediaeval castles.

Hohenwerfen Fortress
Erlebnisburg Hohenwerfen was begun in the 11th century by the archbishops of Salzburg and was enlarged in the 16th century by the addition of outer fortifications. The stronghold is located in a commanding position overlooking the Salzach river between the Tennen and Hagen mountain ranges.

Hoher Markt
Vienna’s oldest square was once the called the ‘old forum’ and on it stood the palace of the Commander of the Roman fortress of Vindobona. Footings of walls of the Roman barracks can be seen in the preserved underground ruins as well as the remains of a 4th century Germanic house.
