Has anyone ever taken the travel across Canada, From Vancouver to Halifax?
What was it like. What class did you take on the train? First class or economy?
Speak of your experiences. |

I have taken the train between Toronto and Vancouver a few times. That's not quite the whole crossing. We went economy (sleep in your seat).
What was it like? - The strongest impression was the sense of "community" that developed among the long haul passengers. It was like dropping into a part in a television soap opera for a few days (and nights). The local traffic occasionally boarded and departed along the route, providing as much entertainment as the scenery. The experience was more about the train and the people on it, than about the scenery and land we were crossing. That may all just be a function of travelling economy. A compartment might have yielded a different experience entirely. |
