We have recently been to Iraqi Kurdistan, North East Afghanistan and South Sudan. All great countries and safe for travellers. Has any one else have any recent experience of countries that have opened post conflict up but no tourists have yet dared to venture there??

In the 90' as a child (with my parents), I visited Croatia, next year after ending Yugoslavia Wars. Nothing bad happaned to us, we were very safe, and never later there weren't so little tourists there... But it was also very deppresing - seeing the horibble war damages all over the country...

thanks for your reply. Croatia has seen a huge change in fortunes in the last 15 years and is now seen as a bit of an alternative to Greece or Turkey. Let's hope places like Syria and Lybia can turn around their current fortunes!
