I never unload all my stuff. I just take out what I need. I am actually pretty good at packing though. Since I travel more frequently than most people, I've gotten pretty good it. _________________ Online Education :: Career Development Forum

We have a B&B and 90% of our guests don't unpack.
We have to put wardrobes in for our visit britain grading but the space would be better used enlarging the en-suite! _________________ (\__/) Chinese Proverb - He who asks a question is a fool for a minute; he who does not remains a fool forever.

8 days is probably the most I have stayed in one hotel. I live in florida and I do remember seeing people that stayed at hotels for months but it was due to some hurricanes that destroyed their houses and the insurance would refund what they spent on the hotel. _________________ Resorts Maniac Blog |

hmmm 7 years for me!!! But thats cheating because my parents owned it!
3 weeks is my longest in a hotel in Scotland. I really dont enjoy spending long periods of time in the same hotels when Im travelling. I think you can get too comfortable in your surroundings when the bar tender starts to pour your drink before you've even told him what you want!! Thats when its time to move on and experience some new places! _________________ "The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on" |

For business, I always unpack. I wantto lay things out and make sure they don't get wrinkled. I travel so light for business that generally it takes me 5 minutes to pack everything back up again. And usually, I am leaving to go home at the end of a business trip.
For pleasure, I rarely unpack. I can't pack very well for pleasure, and usually don't want to unpack everything for fear of not getting it all back in the bag again. And, usually I am only staying for a short time (a night or two), so it seems a waste to spend time unpacking when I could be seeing the town.

The answer for me depends if you call a cabin on a cruise ship a hotel room or not?
For me the longest hotel stay has been 12 nights in the one hotel, which was a work trip.
On the other hand I have been in the one cabin on a cruise ship for 28 night before.
One thing that Ithink I have learned from living in hotel rooms and cabins on cruise ships is that the space I need to live in is actually much smaller then I thought. Once Upon a time I would have been planning to consider buying a house, with 3 or four bedrooms and large living spaces. Now I would be happy with maybe a 2 bedroom apartment or unit.

2 months in a hotel in Houston, Texas. I was on business. I insisted I got a suite as couldn't handle eating out every night - I wanted to cook for myself.
I realised that eating out in America is cheaper than going to the supermarket and cooking for yourself! |
