A beer (but the ones here are pretty big, you don't really get standard size) is about $2 on Zanzibar, less on the mainland. Pretty good value for the quality and quantity. _________________ www.mustaphasplace.com

Brighton is expensive! Average between £3 and £3.75 a pint.
But the most expensive place i have ever been was Dublin, which is shockingly bad. _________________ Kieran

Hi
Beer in Majora is cheap depending on where you go becuase we have so many UK holiday makers comign over to the Island. The main Spainsh beers are the best to drink but we have everythign on tap you woudl imainge availbe.

In Dumfries (UK) I usually pay between £2.50 and £3.00 unless I go to wetherspoons where I can get a pint for £1.49 at the moment. Bargain.

But if you get your beer from the supermarket you'll pay less than 1€. No matter what you get there, you'll hardly ever go wrong with German beer. Nothing beats going to a beer festival, though, where you can taste all sorts of beers from all the different local and regional breweries. Prices there: 2-4€

A friend told me that one of the reasons that beer is cheap here is that beer is classed as a foodstuff (because it has so may calories) so it is taxed at the lower rate like all food!! But the normal higher tax on alcohol applies to all other alcoholic drinks. What a great system!

In Bulgaria a bottle of Zagorka 0,5 l - one of the most popular local beers costs in a shop about 0,60€ (0,50£ or 0,80$) - year 2012. In a pub in any city in Bulgaria or in Sunny Beach resort (if the pub is not any of the ones made especially for foreigners) it would cost 1,3€ (1,2£ or 1,6$). That is one of the reasons why the country attracts so many tourists, of course, together with the nice beaches, rich history, great nightlife, etc. And yes, Bulgaria is in EU.
