whats the longest period of time you have spent living/traveling outside of your own country?
at this point i am going on 1.5 years but i am sure, compared to a lot of you, that is not that much. _________________ ESL Jobs & Flashcards

well, 1.5 years is quite a long period !
have been out of my hometown for a year on a trip around the globe. it is not bad to return for a while and then head out again. just to pop in and say hello. _________________ Around 2500 pictures from Nepal /Nepal /

Five years - when hitchhiking around the world it's not easy to come home for a weekend from South America, Asia, etc. But then... the whole world is our home, too.
Nevertheless - it's good to be finally home _________________ Hitchhike the World

The longest I've been away from home for is the seven months I spent in Russia from January to August 2003.

5 years in total, but I went home every winter to go skiing - so not sure it it counts.
Paul, what did you do in Greenland? _________________ African Safari Holidays

| I've been away from my home town for 3 1/2 years. For just over 3 years of that I lived in the UK but went to Berlin for a visit once or twice a year. For the last 5 months I travelled round the world. |

One year spent in Australia, South Pacific and South East Asia - oh happy days!

Depends on how you define home.... I've been in Boston for a decade, but Vermont is "home"... I've spent four months in Europe at one time, ten months in Canada, three months crossing the USA to the west coast. _________________ Travel Forum - Travel Web - Traveler - Rock Climbing - Kiting |

I agree with Peter. I generally think of home as the place where I grew up, the place my parents still live - Gloucester, MA. But, its been almost 8 years since I lived there. 5 years in Chicago, 6 months in the Netherlands, 2 years in Hawaii, and now I'm in Seattle. I don't where home is?! _________________ Michelle
