|
|
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I need a visa for Thailand? I've had mixed messages, some people telling me I only need one if I'm leaving a different way to the way I entred the country.
I know I need a visa for Vietnam but can I buy this while I'm in England now even though I won't be visiting there until Feb/March 2004? Or do I need to get in when I'm in Oz/Thailand?
Any info would be a great help!!!
Thanks, Amy |

It depends.
If you are only going to be in Thailand for 4 weeks at a time and you have an onward ticket, then you don't need a visa. If you are staying longer than 4 weeks then you do (but if you are only staying one or 2 days over the month, then it is cheaper to pay the fine than buy a whole visa)
Most visas have to be used within 3-6 months from the date of issue, so I would wait until you are a bit closer to Vietnam to get it. _________________ DMFREEDOM - Travel writing and Photography

You'll recieve a thirty day visa on arrival if you fly into Bangkok. As for the Vietnam visa, they are very easy to obtain in Bangkok with many travel agents offering the service.
As far as I can remember it takes about 2 days to get. Either that or get one before you leave. |

Indeed. Mostly the same day.
