Hello There..

I have 2 questions..

What should I take travelling?

How much should I be paying for the items I should take away with me?

I am looking to do a big around the world trip, so am looking at Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and possibly the States..

Any help will be really good to have... I am looking at purchasing items that I could use in any of these places..

Thanks,

Lauren

No simple answer I'm afraid , depends on when youre gonna be in each place and what you plan to do when you get there.

As little as possible is my general rule of thumb Very Happy

You can look at any number of travel blogs to get a packing list to offer you ideas. Here is my brief list

Backpack
pants
shorts
shirts
shoes
money
passport
socks
toiletries
camera
travel guide

That's it. Maybe a better question for you is what do you need to live? Bring that stuff. You'll be fine.

Just to share, I try not to forget the following during my travels:

- cash
- atm/credit card/debit card
- travel documents/passport/tickets/map/guide book/itinerary
- first aid kit (with vitamins/paracetamols/meds)
- sewing kit
- swiss knife
- camera
- a very small pack of laundry detergent
- communication gadget (phone/ipad)

Good luck! Smile

The biggest mistake people make on these big trips is to over pack. I had an enorous ruck sack when I did the around the world thing. I felt stupid and realised I had far too much stuff.

- Instead of books take a kindle
- Instead of towel take a tiny roll up travel towel which dries fast.
- Get a bag/suitcase which has wheels and hidden straps so it can be turned into a backpack when needed.
- Plan your clothing well and make sure you have multiple uses for each item e.g. buy a shirt which can be used for smart occasions or can also be used to protect you from the sun on the beach.
