Hello All,

I'm hoping for a bit of help with regards to somewhere to stay in Udaipur. I travel to Udaipur on the 9th March and am planning on staying for around 1 week.

I'm a solo female traveler and am a little unsure as to how safe I'll feel walking around the city at night(this will be my first visit to Udaipur & my first journey as a solo traveler). With this in mind I am looking for a sociable budget guesthouse, one with a busy rooftop cafe would be a big plus for me as would a fairly central, safe location.
I don't really require very much from the room its self, an attached bathroom and a fan will do me fine. My budget is around 500 Rupees per night.
I'm hoping the experience of others might point me in the direction of a friendly but more importantly safe place to stay.

Also, does anyone know of any hotels that allow non-residents to pay for use of a swimming pool?

Lastly if anyone has any recommendations of things to do/see, tours to take etc they would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance to any helpers.

Hi,
Is better to reach at Lake Ghat area and found so many guest houses with in your budget. This is the best area to stay and in the centre too.
To have a boat trip in the lake Pichola would be great experiance to see the best view of Royal Palaces.
Wishes from India!!!
Raju India.
