Has anyone god any recommendations for good restaurants in the UK.
The most recent restaurant we've visited that was fantastic was 'The Kitchin' in Edinburgh. It was quite pricey, but worth it _________________ Accommodation in Edinburgh | Stay in Edinburgh | Edimburgo |

Well, “Byron” is a really good spot, it’s a burger point but quite an up class one, places all over London, or else you could try Zuma which is sushi, very elegant but classy which is found on Brampton road. _________________ Dubai Shopping Festival 2012 | Dubai holiday packages |

Yeah, I've been to Kitchin and it was good, just wondering if there's any other ones out there that people would recommend as being excellent _________________ Accommodation in Edinburgh | Stay in Edinburgh | Edimburgo |

To be honest, I think you'd be more likely to get pertinent results if you ask for a more specific area.
It'd also be useful to know what you look for in a "good restaurant". For some, it might be a McDonalds and for others nothing less than a Michelin star will do.
I can think of lots of good restaurants in the UK, but really there's too many to try and list.
Failing this, try any of the weekend newspaper supplements where recent reviews are regularly published. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions

Hello
I am not sure, but considering what I have read, Soho Joe in London seems to be a very good place. It is not expensive, but it seems to be very good. Of course, if you have lots of money the Le Gavroche with three Via Michelin stars in London could be a good place, or maybe Petrus, the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in London... I found these recommendations at [self-promotional links removed]
This is of course for London, not sure though if you were interested in London restaurants. |

I've recently been told by several people that there is a restaurant in Harrogate, North Yorks called William & Victoria which is fantastic. Yet to find the time to give it a try, but if anyone beats me to it, please do let me know what it's like. _________________ Yorkshire Hotels | Holiday Cottages in Whitby | Travel Submit Guest Post |

| Personally, I am a fan of the Chez Gerard chain in the UK... they have a nice restaurant in the Piazza at Covent Garden. |

OK, you asked for it!
Top 10 restaurants in the UK (excluding London), according to the 2012 Harden's guide are as below. (The Harden's guide is a unique UK restaurant guide in that the reviews and recommendations are all from the general public.... so restaurant goers - including me! - submit their reviews and marks each year, and the best places get into the guide!)
So the UK Top 10 are:
1. The Fat Duck, Bray
2. Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, Oxfordshire
3. Waterside Inn, Bray
4. The Seafood Restaurant, Padstow
5. Northcote, Lancashire
6. Hind's Head, Bray
7. Gidleigh Park, Devon
8. Kitchin, Edinburgh
9. Chapter One, Kent
10. Hand & Flowers, Marlow _________________ Track your Euros here

For a long time it's puzzled me as to why Bray seems to be such a magnet for top restaurants. Obviously Heston Blumethnal's places (particularly the Fat Duck) get plenty of publicity in conjunction with his TV appearances, books, etc. - he has the Fat Duck and the Hinds Head Hotel. But for two of the UK's only four 3-star Michelin restaurants to be in one village is really quite surprising. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions

The reason I left it so vague is my wife and I fancy sampling some top restaurants all over Britain and fancy going somewhere for a weekend and make the meal our reason for going.
That list that laz posted is great and I also wonder about Bray..?
Has anyone been to the Fat Duck? its mighty expensive _________________ Accommodation in Edinburgh | Stay in Edinburgh | Edimburgo |

I've got a bit more time now to answer this, so here are some more recommendations from Hardens...
The Top 10 in London are as follows:
1. J. Sheekey
2. Scott's
3. Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley
4. Chez Bruce
5. Le Gavroche
6. The Ledbury
7. Clos Maggiore
8. Galvin Bistrot de Luxe
9. The Wolseley
10. Les Deux Saisons
Then there are loads of different categories, each with its own Top 10, but I'll just list the top 3....!
Top Gastronomic Experience
1, Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley
2. Le Gavroche
3. The Ledbury
Best for romance....
1. Clos Maggiore
2. La Poule au Pot
3. Andrew Edmunds
Best bar/pub food
1. The Anchor and Hope
2. Harwood Arms
3. Bull & Last
And be warned..... the most disappointing are:
1. Gordon Ramsey at Claridge's
2. Oxo Tower
3. The Ivy
and, also, oddly, Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley comes in at number 4 on this list!
Personally, I would avoid London, and I would probably aim for a place I can stay at and also get top class food... but of course they all come at a price. If money were no object, I would certainly have a weekend at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, but would also fancy a night or two at Northcote in Lancashire....and I have always fancied a long weekend at one of the remote gourmet hotels/inns in western Scotland, such as the Summer Isles Hotel or the Three Chimneys on Skye _________________ Track your Euros here

Have your dining experiences extended as far as Cumbria yet, laz...? We have a smattering of Michelin stars up here now, and a number of other good restaurants without that kind of recognition.
PS - Did you watch Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's 'The Trip'... if so, what did you make of it? _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions

I went to Wahaca in London this weekend - great mexican food, really well priced for central London too!
Haz in the city is fantastic.
Joe Allen's restaurant is good.
I'm hungry all of a sudden... |
