Hi folks im in the process of arranging my next overseas trip, i have four destinations in mind and at the moment i have choosen two destinations which i will definitely be going to, am going to the Carribbean and have decided to make Trinidad my first destination, will spend 10 nights there, will spend 5 nights in Port of Spain and 5 nights in Chauguanas and for my second Carribbean destination i was thinking and was certain of going to Bahamas but now im thinking about going to Barbados instead, would very much love to visit both countries but for this trip will only be able to afford to go to one of them especially since i have a third destination that i will be going to before i head home and that destination is Thailand.
So to anyone on here who has been to both Bahamas and Bardados which country do you think is better for tourists and why, any info would be very much helpful and useful and will allow me to decide which one i should go to.
Cheers
John |

but if you ask me, Bahamas it is !
not that I've been there before, but the place is really really nice. |
That's excellent, just exactly the kind of well-informed response that JohnBoy was aiming for. |

Bahamas and Barbados are both great travel destinations. Both has great beaches and nice cozy places for a traveler like you. But if I am going to choose, I'd say go to Barbados.
One reason is that it is not as popular as Bahamas so you get to enjoy the place without much hassle from other tourists. _________________ Rome Italy hotels

Hmmm...it's quite difficult to choose from these two destinations because both are popular enough in caribbean. but i prefer Bahamas - Most favorite tourist destination and famous for beaches and water sports. Also favorite for snorkelers, divers, and deep-sea fishing. You can see here historical attractions, national parks, botanical gardens and many more things... _________________ Las Vegas Travel |

Grand Bahama Island & Paradise Island are VERY full of tourists. The other islands are beautiful though. Try Eluthera or Harbour Island. Barbados is less touristy and beautiful as well. Most of the Caribbean islands are about the same, gorgeous beaches, turquoise water & nice people. _________________ Sig removed because I turned out to be a spammer... silly me. |

IMO, Barbados is one of the most developed islands in the region. Its nightlife is awesome pleasant beaches with plenty of activities. Barbados is better selection for holiday vacation because it a big and beautiful as well.
You can also find the nightlife in the middle of Bay Street in Bridgetown where a variety of clubs, restaurants/bars, hotels and a few other places are located especially close to the water. So visiting there and make your tour memorable. _________________ Romantic Bed and Breakfast | Cabin Rental Luray VA | Luray Caverns Cabins |

Barbados for sure! I have been to Barbados five times and Bahamas twice. I am going back to Barbados in next month; I would not really consider going back to the Bahamas because its feels like you are still in United States. I actually love the tropical climate of Barbados, so Barbados is my Choice.

I have been to the Bahamas, South Andros, and it was great! White sandy beach, palms on the beach, absolutely quiet and we have seen only 6 other tourists there. But if you would like to go to the Bahamas, you have probably travel via the United States and that could be a reason to think about travel to Barbados, because also Barbados should be a very nice destination. _________________ Nicky's travelogue: http://www.sausebrausmaus.de

I have not been to the Bahamas so unfortunately I can't comment on that.
I have been to Barbados twice now and enjoyed it both times. It may be a while until I go again because I would prefer to go to different places but it is well worth a visit. |

So, did you make your choice? Did you travel? I was in Barbados once and it was amazing!! Every single day, I think about going back. The people are great, the food's yummy, the beaches are awesome. Oh, and it'd only take you 45 minutes by plane from Trinidad. |

Hi All
The islands of Bahamas are much better, as they offer different attractions to enjoy but Barbados has a a pretty little garden that is a must visit.
You will love it. |
