| The ongoing debate of increasing travel costs and duty taxes means lots of people are still thinking of staying close to home this year for their annual vacation. Do you think it will be another good year for staycation or are we bored already? |

It will be interesting to see the stats for this Summer. The real problem I think is that while people may have staycations and stay in the UK, they may and go and stay in a cottage or holiday park somewhere the real question from then is will they spend in the local community or will they just stay in, etc. A lot of people are choosing to stay in the UK and visit areas, but places are seeing people bring their own packed lunch and not utilise the local areas pubs or restaurants which is having a serious negative impact on the area. So its one thing people travelling to an area in the UK, its also another thing whether they are spending there... a lot sadly for the areas economy are not. |

| I love making the most of "mini" vacations. By mini I usually just mean there's no air travel involved.. Especially in an extremely diverse country like the US it's easy to continually find new places to visit. I'm in maine so I also consider the Canadian Maritime provinces "stay cations" |

This is my problem for the next couple of years... I love to travel but with my wife about to give birth I cant see us getting a holiday for the next few years. Sigh... I am sure it will be more than worth it though! |

| I think there is so much to see in the U.K. Despite airfare still, even with increased tax, being ridiculously cheap, there is so much on our little isle we don't make use of. I would recommend anybody to make the trip up to Yorkshire to see the moors. It really is incredible. |

| I know the feeling regards the forever increasing costs of holidays abroad - especially if one has a family - and I have considered instead going down to Devon or Cornwall this year and next. BUT - with the kind of summer we have had in the UK this year (what happened to the summer) - i think a holiday in the sun is essential! Abroad is the only way. |

You can always use one of the subletting sites like deleted which is Europe's airbnb clone site and save quite a bit of money on your vacation. Several journalists have put it to the test and found that they could save several hundred dollars / pounds by choosing to stay in someone's spare room rather than a hotel room.
Alternatively, check out some of the amazing properties they have available and your 'staycation' could become so much more than a holiday park or another cottage. Treehouse hotel anyone?! |

| Well I don't know about others but I am going for a holiday this year. I am planning to visit Scotland and want to explore the beauty of Scotland which I have heard from many. |

| How about Ireland - it defintely has some of the most amazing beaches and countryside anywhere in the world? And its so close to the UK and with so many budget airlines offering flights from a majority of UK airports and lots of ferry sailings from a majority of Ports along the west coast - its easily accessible too. |
