If you could travel anywhere in the UK where would you go to? Or is there somewhere you go back year after year?

Well, one of my favourite hobbies is drinking whisky, so I would love to do an extensive whisky tour in Scotland. From the Speyside to the Islays to the Orkneys, while having a break in the Highlands............Oh yeah ! Cool

Dorset always draws me back, having lived in the Westcountry I adore the place. Scotland is also beautiful, day trips to London are a treat for me, but the absolute best has to be Co Antrim and Co Down, Norn Irn. Also, if we extended the criteria to British Isles, it would have to be Donegal, especially the west coast around Ardara.

Highlands of Scotland. Love the remoteness and the tranquility. Food and drink are great too!

Although I'm from the UK I've never managed to get to Ireland. I have friends there and always hear what a great place Dublin is so that is top of my UK wish list. Being Welsh I would like to point out that Wales is an often overlooked destination in the UK and in places is incredibly beautiful.

Wales, has lots of interesting places to visit, the summer time is the best, as the beaches especially in West Wales are just stunning, another town I enjoy is Chester with its Black and White buildings and history.

The Isle of Skye is well worth a visit, as are the rest of highlands - beautiful!

The Lake District is beautiful as well, with lots of good walks through some fantastic hilly countryside.

I enjoy my trips to Oldham and walks along the canals, but it's probably not a big tourist destination. Nice country on the road to Sheffield too. I'm told there are bike paths up there, on old train lines and that you can rent bikes. If we go in the summer, I want to try that.

If you make it to Ireland... Well, I guess all of it is pretty special, just don't tell the Dubliners you prefer Murphy's... County Kerry was my favorite, I think... Hard to say.

Have a great trip!

Cheers!

Cardiff is my favourite place in the UK. Far more friendly than London. Cheaper parking, Brains SA, museums, Wales National Opera, Millenium stadium, Cardiff Castle, Castell Coch, Docklands, nightlife, cheap parking, shopping arcades etc.

You knows I love Caarrdiff.

I've not been around too much in the UK, but I really enjoyed my visit to Cornwall. I stayed in Tintagel, visited Port Issac, and stayed in St. Ives as well.

I haven't spent too much time in the UK, but I really want to go back to London. I know that it probably sounds cliched, but I love big busy cities, and London is one of the tops!

I have spend many great holidays right at the top of Scotland at Oldshoremore a few miles north of Kinlochbervie.

I have just done a search of Yahoo and found an amazing website with panoramic picture of the area. Once it is loaded (Quicktime I think) then use the mouse to move your view around and you will see one of the best kept secrets in Scotland - the beach at Oldshoremore, and this is the small one. There is another which is called Sandwood Bay - you need to walk to (and dogs are not allowed). If anyone does visit this area make sure you have anti midgie and other insect cream on - as there is a lot of the little devils around.

Not sure about the UK, but Eire is probably one of them. Dublin for example is very laid back and reminds me more of Carlisle than a major capital city like London and you can walk around it without the fear of being knocked down every 5 mins.

Not been any further than that yet, but firstly I need to find a very steady ferry to take my car across.

I'll be biased and cast my vote for the Lake District. Since that's home for me, though, I'll also put a word in for the north-east. The coastline an hour or so's drive above Newcastle is beautiful and surprisingly tranquil given that it offers some of the best beaches in the country. Would recommend places like Beadnell, Bamburgh, etc. if anyone is considering a trip to the area.
