Good news for travellers, who going to Poland, from Ireland. Well-known Ryanair airlines just announced, that they will start new routes from Cork Airport. The airline will fly from Cork to the Polish cities of Gdansk, Wroclaw, Krakow, capital Warsaw (Warszawa) and to Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
Airports of Wrocław, Gdańsk, Kraków and Poznań got new buildings and infrastructure, due to make-up, for football EURO 2012.
By the way, new airport was opened in Poland recently, and is called Warsaw-Modlin and will serve for some cheap airlines, charter and vacation flights. Railway connection to the centre of Warsaw will be build, in the future. Airlines pay less for airport charges (around 50% off the level, charged by main Warsaw airport Okęcie). So, travellers get cheaper air tickets, as well.
So, its easier and easier to go to Poland!. Very Happy

This monstrual building, build in years 1952 to 1955 in central part of Warsaw, almost entirely by 3500 workers from the Soviet Union, of whom 16 died in accidents during the construction.
This building was hated by Polish people, during the communism times...now, seems preserved as historic one.
I really do not see any beauty in this architecture. However, I do not live in Warsaw....what a relief!!! Very Happy

Hi! Just wonder - to destroy this monstrual "thing" could cost a fortune.
From other side, the price of land could pay for that! Very Happy
Anyway, it seems this building will stay there till next revolution (next century?)
When new Fidel Castro will born, the building will be waiting for him. Laughing

Autocash, as new member, you should write introduction post. Few or more words about yourself in the introductions section of this forum. Such custom exist on this great forum. Smile

Wild Bisons live in Poland. In the east parts of Poland, full of wild woods and forest. If you are interested in wild nature, you should visit national park "Białowieski", in Poland.
Free-ranging bisons are currently found in Poland and other surrounding countries like Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Slovakia or Latvia.
Most of them (around 800 wild bisons) are living In Bialowieza forest (in Poland), which is well preserved ancient and really wild woodland that straddles the border between east Poland and west Belarus.
Who knows, maybe wild dragons lives there, as well.... Laughing

Here we go! Let's visit the Polish coast of Baltic Sea.
Beautifull picture of Polish wild beach and coast. I love the contrast of blue water color and green color of forest. Summer is usually beautifull one in Poland. Smile

Let's stay on the coast of Poland (it's still summer now!).
There is town called Swinoujscie.....

This town is famous for its splendid sandy beaches on the coast of Baltic sea, that extend from the German border all the way to the mouth of the Swina River. Some say that Poland begins in this place, when comes to north-west corner of our country.
Swinoujscie is situated on 44 islands, three of which, mean Wolin, Uznam and Karsibór, are inhabited. The last one is a famous bird reserve, and is great for fishing and angling activity.
Local ferry terminal provides a very popularl link between Poland and Scandinavia.

Hi! This is gothic building named "Barbican", build 1498-1499 and was a part of city defence walls. During that time, the entire city was ringed by a system of walls and moats. The Barbican was both a important gateway to the city and a key element of defence. Walls of Barbican are 3 meters wide. This place and interiors are open to visit by tourists.
