Hi there,
I'm thinking about travelling to Dubai, but I can only find reports from 2004 or earlier, nothing from near past. Can you recommend Dubai or not as Dubai is only one construction site. Is that realy so dire how I think? Who have been visited Dubai this year and can tell me something?
Greetings,

Hi there, Not all of Dubai is a construction site..but it is true to say that construction is on-going in Dubai in fact it is true to say that there is amount of construction going on in all of the Emirates at the moment. Fujairah has recently started to build more hotels to take advantage of its coast line and of course Abu Dhabi has been in the headlines a lot too as it is planning the Louvre, Guggenheim and Ferrari World there! But construction isn't always a bad thing - after all when the construction is complete you have fabulous buildings like the Burj al Arab and fun things for the kids like the Wild Wadi water park.
When are you thinking of travelling there? and do you have any hotels in mind? I may know where the hotel is and whether there is construction nearby! _________________ Cumbria Competitions |

Hi ADLI,
thank you for your quick answer No, we have any hotel and I don't know an exactly time for travelling, it's only an idea. But if you say Abu Dhabi is advisable as well, it could be better first to travel to Abu Dhabi and as well as the construction is complete then to visit Dubai. I would like to learn to know the Arabic culture, cause I have never been to an Arabic country.
I'll have a look to your website and will find out the sights. But you could, if you want, tell me a bit about Abu Dhabi
Thanks and cheers

Hi Nicky,
Construction is taking off throughout the Emirates I'm afraid! It will be a long long time, before you are free of cranes there, but that does not mean that is all that you will see!!
You just need to choose carefully!
Dubai is certainly bigger than Abu Dhabi and Fujairah is much smaller again. The other Emirates aren't really targeting tourism as the moment (as far as I know!)
It would really depend on what you want out of your holiday as to where to advise you to go.
Bear in mind that little over 50 years ago Abu Dhabi was just a few bedouin tents. Since then it has grown to be the richest city in the world. Dubai has similarly gone from being desert to tourism destination in very little time.
It is certainly easier to get around Abu Dhabi, but people who live in Dubai argue that they have more choice of hotels, restaurants, shopping malls things to do etc! There is a water park- the wild wadi in Dubai and also an indoor ski slope. However there are only so many restaurants you can eat at on vacation and Abu Dhabi has many to recommend it. You can go on desert safaris from either of the Emirates and I would certainly recommend one of these trips, whichever destination you chose.
You will want to chose a hotel with at least an outdoor pool. You should also try to get one that has access to a private beach. There are not many private beaches in the UAE , most are attached to the major hotels.
Hotels aren't particularly cheap, but you can get some great offers from time to time. It is always worth checking if you see an offer that its not in the height of summer, when the heat would be unbearable or in Ramadan, when a lot of facilities have altered opening hours and eating, drinking and smoking in public is banned.
Have a look around the various websites and let me know if I can offer more specific help. I have seen someone from Dubai post here before, so hopefully they might see these posts and add their more detailed knowledge of Dubai!
As far as getting a taste of Arabic Culture, one of your best bets would be to take a desert safari and perhaps stay overnight, that way you can get a taste of life the way it used to be, before the discovery of oil! If you have money at your disposal this resort is apparently fantastic http://www.al-maha.com/ although sadly i've not been there myself, yet! _________________ Cumbria Competitions |

There are many huge projects in Dubai now, but it is still top destination in Middle east due to it is luxurious place to go. If you wish to experience that , you shouldn't miss it. _________________ Digital Marketing Blog |

Dubai, seems to be the place to be seen... I do reckon however that should you be on a budget you could find somewhere equally a nice for 75% less! _________________ Looking For Car Hire?

Hi! I'm planning to go to Dubai at the beginning of 2010, and it's gonna be my first visit there. Are there any recently raised buildings that you'd especially recommend seeing/ visiting? I know all the most famous places I should see, but as the commercial property in Dubai has been developing at such an impressive pace (e.g. thanks to developers like TFG - I was really impressed by their website!) I imagine there must be more such places atm Thanks for your advice, Chloe. |

I've read that Dubai has huge debt to pay and many unfinished infrastructures are being halted.. sad.. _________________ Boost your download speed with http://bittorrentbooster.com

I have been fortune enough to travel in the Middle East a fair bit and to be honest Dubai offers very little in the way of Middle Eastern Culture.... however I loved the place!
It's is a great mix of people, beaches and buildings. Though there is extensive building work going on (all seems to have been) the results are pretty amazing with some of the most stunning buildings in the world....the sea and the beaches are pretty good to!
I'm not massively into Water Parks but Wild Wadi, near the Jumeriah Beach Hotel, is a must, it's not everyday you can float on a rubber ring past one of the most amazing hotels structures in the world!
If you look closer you can find some culture. I last stayed in Deira and ate in a couple of local resturants, well not resturants more workmens cafes, but the food was great and very cheap! Watch the beer prices though...very expensive!

Hope that you enjoyed your visit to Dubai, some great hotels, but my favourite is the Jemiarah beach, stayed at the Atlantis last year and not impressed. _________________ Discover the Home of Cheap Low Cost Car Rental at over 17000 locations in 135 Countries. |
