Hi Myla, the UK's a big place so it's hard to put a timeframe on how long you should stay for. You could spend a few weeks in London alone! Are there any parts that you really want to see? Depending on how much time you have I would take at least a month and start south and work your way up to Northern England, Scotland and then across to Northern Ireland.

Really hard to say. Depends on what you want from the trip. You could easily come for a month and still not do it justice.

It all depends on where you want to visit in U.K, there are plenty of places to see and do.
If you could be little bit more specific will be able to give you a good answer.

If you are planing on visiting London 1 week would do.You cover all London attraction and sightseeing

The thing about England is that it is quite pricey to stay here and travel around here so it would be better to choose the places you want to go to and do them justice rather than try and fit everything in. My favourite places in England are London, Brighton, the beaches and the seaside in Cornwall and the new forest. They are not too far away from each other and you could do them justice in about 2-3 weeks! Smile

There are so many things to do and places to see in this great country.
Going round London attractions alone would take you 3 days if you tour like everything none-stop day and night.

UK has plenty to see and do, which part of the UK are you planning on visiting.
It will be nice if you can be bit more specific.

Anyway 1 or 2 week is not going be to enough to see UK, if you are planning on only one location a week would do.

Miya,

Depends on your interests. I could give you an itinerary that would occupy you for a month in London, or even a week in Pimlico. Often American's "do" Britain with a visit to London, Oxford & Scotland (those who want a more extended weekend include Chester on the trip north).

Personally I have spent 50 years exploring Britain, and last month I discovered Dartmouth, which I consider one of the most beautiful towns in the country yet had never seen before. So for London I would suggest that to be safe , you allow 5 years.

It depends on your choice. But if you are going to stick to mostly the London area, then I think one week would be enough to see the sights of the city.

Always recommend 10 days but make sure you get out of London and see other parts of the UK! There is so much more outside of London! I would always recommend a car and driving down to Devon and spending a couple of days down there in a nice country pub.

I would agree that London is like a country in itself, I decided to [color=#000000]rent an apartment on a trip to London when i visited the UK for a month. I stayed in London for a week which was enough time to see the sights and get a sense of the place. If you want to really engage with the U.K I would plan for at least a month long stay.

If you are staying in one place (eg London) then one week is plenty.
If you are thinking of travelling around then you need to stay 2 to 3 weeks.
