The selection of places is pretty vast for a one day trip from London. Nevertheless I’d like to recommend visiting “Stonehenge” in Salisbury. Mostly travelers prefer this place for sheer enjoyment of these historical super structures.
They take pictures of this beautiful place and know about its history from tour guide. So I’d definitely recommend to visiting there I hope your day would be memorable. _________________ Romantic Bed and Breakfast | Cabin Rental Luray VA | Luray Caverns Cabins |

In london I love the London Eye, but its the kind of thing that you can only do once. Madame tussaurds, going down the thames, shopping in camden market and portobello market etc are all great things to do in London. Or if you are a shoppoholic like me then take a trip to Oxford street! _________________ Morocco Travel Plan - We’ll help you build your own Morocco adventure |

For the best one-day trip from London, you really have to visit Brighton.
If you are looking for family-friendly facilities look for Yellowwave in Kemp Town or the quality mini-waterpark on the way toward Hove lawns.
And there's the beach, and half a dozen quality parks.
If it's shopping you are after, then think London, but without the traffic! Every other shop is a boutique. It's a very cool place to just window shop or sit and watch the technicolour world go by.
And there's always a festival or children's parade or something interesting happening.
It's not as expensive as people say, in fact there are significant discounts on for summer bookings.
Have a look at the Ambassador Hotel's blog, it's new and has lots of information for families, and discounts for people who want to stay over night.
Come on, it has to be Brighton! |

It depends on what you're looking for in a day trip. Oxford and Cambridge are great day trips as they're lovely university towns and there's lots to see and do such as taking boat rides on the river. For something a bit further afield there's also the possibilty of going up to Edinburgh; flights are cheap and flight time is around an hour and it's a great city.

Many thanks for the suggestions.I've been to the Stonehenge, and Salisbury, but Brighton sounds a good idea. Can You recommend something special to see or try in Brighton?Or just enjoy the sea? _________________ www.babyandfamilyholiday.com

OK, I'll start with what I know about Brighton from my two visits there:
1) The Royal Pavilion
The Royal Pavilion is a very interesting place to visit.
| Quote: | | Built for George, Prince Regent, at the turn of the 19th century, the Royal Pavilion is remarkable for its exotic oriental appearance both inside and out. This magnificent royal pleasure palace was revered by fashionable Regency society and is still a distinctive landmark for vibrant Brighton & Hove today. |
2) The East Pier
I had some very nice fish & chips and some Spotted Dick there once.
| Quote: | | The Palace Pier at Brighton was built from 1891 to 1899 and rates as one of Britain’s most popular tourist attractions, attracting over 2 million visitors a year. The Pier has numerous attractions including arcades, rides, funfair, fortune tellers, restaurants, bars, bingo hall and a night-club. At 1,722 ft long and acknowledged as the finest pier ever built, Brighton Pier now offers all the swagger and style of tradition balanced with the pace and excitement of today. |
3) Aquarium
Walk through and under the fish.
| Quote: | | SEA LIFE Brighton, the oldest operating aquarium in the world, where you can take a jungle tour through Amazonia rainforest waters. |
4) The Lanes
My favorite part of Brighton
| Quote: | | Once the heart of the fishing town of Brighthelmstone, Brighton Lanes' historic quarter is a fabulous maze of twisting alleyways, twittens and catcreeps offering an extraordinary mix of antiques and jewellery shops nestling alongside specialist contemporary and designer boutique fashion. |
5) Boardwalk
There is a boardwalk with shops similar to what you might find in places like Atlantic City New Jersey, USA, or almost any town along any coast. Candy shops selling Brighton Rock, souvenir shops, etc.
I stayed at a hotel on the boardwalk.
6) Brighton Rock
| Quote: | | It's a very simple candy, a large rod made of pure sugar (it isn't 'rock candy'). You can buy it with lettering that says 'Brighton Rock' or your name or a sports team that doesn't disappear as you eat it. |

Yes thise are great places to visit. Toouristy as it may be you have to take a trip to Brighton beach and also to the pier. Brighton is also very arty and there are loads of nice art gallery shops down on the seafront. Perhaps, pop into the bar Gemini and catch a live band? _________________ Morocco Travel Plan - We’ll help you build your own Morocco adventure |

Hello,
I would suggest you to see the offer about Warwick, Stratford, Oxford And The Cotswold's - one day trip. In those cities you will visit the place where scenes from Harry Potter were filmed, also where best-seller 'Alice from wonderland' was created and many other famous places.
Just check this link: http://www.gift-tours.com/warwick-castle-stratford-oxford-cotswolds.asp - and this is very cheap also!
If you need more information, just ask

I would like to second either Stratford upon Avon or Oxford.
Both are very interesting day trips with loads to see and do.
Also very easy walking and easy to navigate your way around.
Enjoy!! |
