Gay St Martin - a few places

Hi,

St Martin is probably the most gay friendly island in the Caribbean, maybe due to the French and Dutch influences, and the cosmopolitan aspect of daily life (100 nationalities live and work here).

Here is a list of some places either exclusively gay, either very gay-friendly :
- Gay beach : Cupecoy (near the airport) : the 2 beaches on the left are quite gay, the 3rd one is more mixed. Ask for Danny, for rental chairs, cocktails, great ribs, etc.
- Nude beach of Orient Bay : on the far right end of the Orient Bay beach, there is the Club Orient, naturist, and all are welcome on the beach.
- Gay guesthouse : Villa Rainbow is a small (5 rooms) luxury exclusively gay guesthouse, in a charming stone villa with clothing optional pool, and stunning view on the Caribbean. Very private and intimate.
- Gay club : Eros, in Marigot, is open every Sat night, from 11 PM.
- Gay bar : in season, ie Nov-April, Les Arches, just in front of Eros, a small open air bar and restaurant for gay friends, each Saturday evening. Ask for Maxence or Murvin.
- Many restaurants are very gay-friendly, among them Le Plongeoir in Marigot just in front of the Marina before the West Indies Shopping Mall. Also in Grand Case, try Calmos Cafe, or Zen It, by the beach with good live music.
