With this Dust Cloud still affecting many UK airports do I book a late deal with about a week to take off at a very good price or is it not worth the hastle ?.
I spoke to someone the other day that got stuck in Malta for about a extra week and she was ok with that.
The package holiday prices have fallen big time in the last few days so I am tempted.

if you can spare an extra few days if you're stuck, go for it. You can't really predict too far out with the volcano. GO FOR IT!

The only problem is the going out flight could be delayed or even worse cancelled. When we are there, wherever there is, coming back doesn't bother us so much - as you say a few days extra Great.

if the outbound is cancelled, most airlines (a few exceptions) are being quite good/reasonable at refunding the fare....so that should make the risk a bit easier to bear....

Hmmm... what does your employment contract state? If you can't get back to work through no fault of your own, I'm not sure you should have to take it as holiday. Could you work from overseas if you needed to if you took a laptop with you?

Working from home would not be possible but in any case I have booked a week in Santorini and will not give the cloud any time till the day we are due to come back, just as long as we get away that is.
Have never been to Santorini but have seen many pictures on the web, the blue roof and loads of sunsets. Very Happy

I think people should just get on with their normal lives and not worry too much about what might happen!

The new CAA regulations and TLZ (Time Limited Zone) mean that most airlines will have got approval to fly in the TLZ - this means that it is highly unlikely that aircraft won't be able to fly.

This applies to UK only, not sure re rest of Europe.
