I'm going walking/scrambling at Tryfan in Wales this weekend. I do a little bit of hiking from time to time, but I have never been to Tryfan.
What can I expect? |

Hi AndyPLP,
Did you go in the end? How did you get on?
Tryfan is one of my favourite scrambles in Wales, even though one of my mates had a big accident off it.
It's important to be careful with route finding, as it's easy to end up in an awkward situation. The North ridge is fun. No need to use ropes, although a short walking rope fo emergencies is always useful, but good walking boots are essential.
Things to look out for are the canon on the North Ridge, and to have a go at jumping from Adam to Eve at the top. _________________ Robert

I did go in the end. The weather was just amazing, bright blue sky all day. Got sunburnt though!
The scramble was great, just my kind of thing. I've got a shot of me standing on the cannon, and a video jumping from Adam to Eve.
We climbed the North face, taking a relatively hard route, the came down the South face and back round to the road.
On the Sunday I did the Marin trail on the mountain bike. Wasn't as good as I was hoping, the trail was a little too long for me, and the downhills just didn't flow, definitely needs some attention. |

Great photos, as you say the weather looked awesome. I was in the Peak District this weekend, did some mountain biking which was good fun with some surprisingly good downhills. _________________ Robert
