| The Hoxton Hotel is fab, and they often do offer days where they have rooms for £1 a night instead of £100+. Think you have to be subscribed to their newsletter to hear about the sale days. |

My favourite hotel in London is The Connaught - it's beautiful, intimate and has two of London's best bars. The new Corinthia hotel is opening next week (April 27) and that looks stunning, so also worth checking out.
If you need any help, get in touch - I run a concierge service in London called Bon Vivant. _________________ Bon Vivant, Concierge Service

| I think London Kensington Hotel In Paddington is the best hotel which not only provides luxurious comfort like spa and complimentary broadband access but also offers good discount to customers. |

i loved the jolly hotel st. ermin when i was in london, and it was beautiful! i think i paid about 80 quid per night, but it was worth it. it's as expensive as a [spam removed - user banned] but hey. i can't remember where it was located exactly, but it was close to loads of shops and pubs, and the hotel room was so elegant! i can recommend it, the staff was well nice too.

| I love Holiday Inn Express Chingford for visiting the Lee White Water Centre, Holiday Inn Express Greenwich for visiting the O2 and Holiday Inn Express Hammersmith when visiting the HMV Apollo in Hammersmith. |

My recommendation stay in an apartment you would njoy the city. Staying in a hotel makes me feel like an outsider.
The more expensive the hotel is the more formal the environment. |

The best hotel for the money I've stayed in is the K West in Shep Bush. The nicest I've stayed in is the Terminal 5 Sofitel, but that was on BA's dime.
Why do people pretend to be from other places when they post? I don't see the benefit. _________________ Fine art photographer in Maine

For a good combination of quality and location, I like the Sofitel St. James—it's just a short walk from St. James's Park, Whitehall, et al.
The Langham Hotel's Langham Club rooms are quite nice (and the lounges are terrific). _________________ David White

Good question, Wes... but it's a very common problem here.
From Aaron's post about it at http://www.aardvarktravel.net/chat/viewtopic.php?t=42520

I don't know why, but some posters seem to think what they say might be more credible if it appears that they come from the USA or UK or similar. Invariably such posters come from China, India or, most commonly of all, it seems, Vietnam. Regardless of where you come from, don't try to trick others into thinking you are from somewhere else. If you want credibility, just be honest. It's easy for us to tell if you're telling the truth or not and we will ban people who try to deceive the community. |

I was in London last week with my bf for 3 days. We wanted to save as much money as possible so we could use it on attractions so we opted for Easy Hotel Paddington. It does what it says on the tin to be honest (really small room), but was a bit miffed about the 'window' which we'd paid extra to have, but it looked out into a covered alley and not properly outside like we'd expected. The staff weren't as friendly as they could've been either so won't be going there again.
Saying that, I once stayed at a Hilton in London and wasn't impressed with that either As a strict vegetarian I didn't take too kindly to fish in my salad when I'd specifically asked for none AND a clanking AC unit in the room. Oh well...hopefully wherever I stay the nxt time will be better |

| I am a fan of the Jolly St Ermins, right opposite Scotland Yard in Victoria. Nice hotel, central location and good value. I wouldnt recommend the Hilton Paddington, overpriced extremely but that is just my opinion. |

| Well if you want my opinion then there are 2 names that are coming to my mind. First is The Dorchester and the other one is The Ritz London. Both of them are very luxurious and best hotels of London. |
