I admit it; I'm an hotel addict. I can go to places just to check in and spend time and sniff some lobby atmosphere. I've been to quite a few London hotels but could use some input for my next trip. My question to you:

Let's say that budget restrictions doesn't exist; which London hotel is your favourite?

If you have a problem picking one, list all of them. Thanks in advance!

All the best,

I have stayed at 2 lovely hotels in London (simply because of the amazing views). The first one was the Tower Bridge Hotel (now Guoman owned) and the second one was swissotel - The Howard. Not cheap though but worth it for a special weekend away!

I hate the chain hotels - they're all sterile and samey. If budget was no issue I'd probably say a suite at the Charlotte St Hotel or The Hoxton Hotel which is not overly expensive but very cool.

If price is no consideration, then definitely Claridge's, The Connaught, The Mandarin Oriental, and Brown's.

If you're looking to combine the feel of a 5* chain with great views, then the Royal Garden Hotel on Kensington High Street is worth a go:

"From the uppermost floors the vista incorporates Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall, the capitals rooftops and colourful mews houses. The horizon above the trees is punctuated with Londons iconic architecture, from St Pauls Cathedral to the Houses of Parliament."

Service is very good.

The very best hotel I have stayed in in London without question was the Dorchester. Quite a lovely place to stay and classy. I'd stay there more often if I could afford it Very Happy

I like location of Swissotel in Covent Garden. I have stayed there several times, and I think it is one of the best except the Dorchester.

Tower Bridge Hotel for me too - amazing views of Tower Bridge, right on the River Thames where we used the ferry taxis to get to Greenwich and the London Eye, next door was the Tower of London and St Katherines Dock with an amazing restaurant on a boat (don't know if still there as this was 2005). For a large hotel no complaints, rooms clean and spacious, breakfast excellent and if you're lucky you will get a view of Tower Bridge.

i would say the dorchester as well. i didn't stay there myself, it was only for staff having 40 years service, but from what i saw and talking to the guys afterwards it was very impressive.
but i'd imagine it was pretty expensive

The Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel is a superb option! The hotel is generally reasonably priced for a quality 5 star hotel and is a perfect location for business travellers and tourists alike.

All these properties are awesome, but even these would have to be runners up to the likes of the Capital and the Levin in Knightsbridge, the Carlton Tower, the Bermondsey Square and the new Rafayel (fully Eco friendly) on the south bank.

But for me the most amazing experience is with a little hotel called The Arch. It has awesome rooms, awesome food and excellent location. I absolutely loved it!

I would have to agree with a few of you and say that Guoman - Tower Bridge Hotel would be my favourite. The place is stunning with beautiful views across the bridge and the London skyline.
