Hi, home swapping is a good idea to save money but also has other advantages. The key to a successful exchange is trusting the other exchanger and finding the right website to post your home is the way to get started. We at HomeForHome try to provide our users with tools to learn about each other before arranging the exchange and we promote safe practices. Please visit our site if you are interested. _________________ Visit HomeForHome, a free home exchange service. |

If my memory serves me correctly, they also have an account here. |
Haven't visited for some time. You are right, Home Base Holidays has been around for some time (25 years this year!).
We no longer publish directories but still are enthusiastically serving the home exchange community, providing a secure service (members feel reassured paying a small membership fee as this ensures all members are serious about arranging home swaps). We publish a regular newsletter (free to subscribe to) and a blog. We always welcome questions from anyone new to home swapping. |

We have been doing house exchanges for 3 years and out of 8 so far only had problems with 1 (tip ask for photos of ALL rooms when we got to our French exchange we realised why as the bedrooms were dirty and moved out the next day). We use homeforexchange.com and the rate is £25 for 2 years. You get to know the feel of the exchanger. Also ask if pets are to be looked after as our French exchange above threw in a cat at the last minute which we didn't want the responsibility of. _________________ www.northwalesholidaylets.co.uk

I run Crashpadder.com - we're mainly a place to book other people's houses/spare rooms but many of our members arrange a swap. Where are you thinking of going? I'd be happy to recommend some properties. _________________ www.crashpadder.com - there's no place like homes!

If you are in the fortunate position of owning a Holiday Home, then we've just started using Exchange Holiday Homes. Debbie and Mark have been very helpful in arranging a swap. We welcomed our first guests here in Edinburgh in December, and we're looking forward to going to a home in the Lake District next Easter. It probably works best in the low season though - we were not willing to let our property out when we knew we could secure paying guests. _________________ Sandcastle Holidays (Scotland) Ltd
