They get you from A to B, you just need to know where A and B are . They "do what they say on the tin", but don't expect to travel in champagne class when paying beer money! £20 return all in return to Alicante from Leeds? Can't fault that!!

Just booked a trip to Edinburgh from Birmingham with a low cost airline, you have to look out for ALL the add ons, like charges for seats and luggage etc.

I absolutely love them.
I can get to my holiday home in Fuerteventura for around £80 return (including all taxes, luggage, etc)
Bear in mind my hubby went on the train to London yesterday - cost him 93 quid - one coach didn't have any heating, one coach was just missing so no guarantee of even a seat - bloomin daylight robbery!! _________________ Holiday Home Rentals direct from the holiday owner from www.ryanairlettings.com

the main problem i find with low cost airlines is that the cost is low because it doesn't include anything. everything you might want is extra, although to be fair there is nothing you couldn't manage without.
the other main factor is that sometimes the plane will land at a destination that is some distance from where you really want to be. this is usually done by the airline because the airport taxes will be cheaper.
however this means a longer transfer for you _________________ Holidays Playa Las Americas |

Most tiem you get what you pay for. cheap price cheap service but if you are only on a short trip it doesn't matter that much _________________ Traveling-Europe.info |

I love the lost cost airlines.
They have really opened up the chance to travel more and as much as some of the things an airline such as Ryanair do, sometimes drives me crazy, it is a choice to fly with them and they are affordable for most trips. _________________ Belly Dance classes | Sicily Property | Italian-English translations

They offer a cheap way to get abroad. I use them to go skiing and biking in the Alps, it does frustrate me a little that they charge you for everything, and that the you can never get the price advertised, however I keep using them as it works out alot cheaper than other major airlines.
I have jet to use them for a flight over 3 hours, and for long-haul I would definitely rather use a major airline. _________________ Boutique Hotels in Manchester & Leeds

I work with London Luton Airport and low cost airlines are our main focus, particularly in Europe. I also personally travel with some of the airlines named in this thread and have always had a really positive experience. Claire _________________ Become our fan on Facebook |

I have different opinions on the different airlines. I love Easyjet for example but am not in anyway a fan of Ryanair. The problem with Ryanair is that in many airports they have no check in staff i.e. such as in Palermo airport, Sicily. Then if your flight is cancelled or any other issue there is literally no one to talk to except for the Serviceair people and they do not care at all.
Easyjet on the other hand I find to be excellent. _________________ Barcelona Hen weekends , Barcelona Stags,

They've changed the face of travel. You can now fly to virtually anywhere in Europe for less than £100 return, and sometimes much cheaper than that if you are willing to be flexible. Although I agree that the extra charges can be very annoying when you are planning a trip. _________________ La Palmyre Holiday Rental, France |

Hi guys, i've tried both: the easyjet and the ryanair. What can I say it's just till now i didn't have any problem by flying with them. Ofcoure you have to be aware of the rules and conditions (especialy in ryanair), but if you prepare for them seriously you will have no problems. I'm a student, so i'm for the cheap flights!!!
From Lithuania to London i paid only 40pounds with 1 registered baggage and no problem came up.
Cheers |

I do not have a problem with low cost airlines at all. I recently travelled on a flight that was not low cost and was exactly the same as if I were travelling with say easyjet etc. In my opinion, low cost airlines always seem to be very straight forward..and sometimes they have great special prices and offers definately a fan! _________________ Gran Canaria Holidays
