Hey everyone,

My girlfriend is out in Buenos Aires and is looking for somewhere that has skype as the place she used has unexpectedly closed down. Can anyone help with any place that they know? She lives in Recoleta so somewhere near there would be better, but anywhere that you know of would be a massive help.

She has tried regular interent cafes but they won't let her download skype for some reason and pay phones are really expensive.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is an unusual situation. Maybe she picks the wrong places to ask. She should try in a hostel...

Most internet cafe's won't allow you to download anything and install it to their computer. You can only use whatever program is installed. I find it odd though that they don't have Skype in their machines.

She should have tried Yahoo Messenger instead as it can also make free PC to PC calls or even MSN messenger, maybe those internet cafe's have those.

Search google for "run skype thumb drive".

She might be able to run it from a usb drive or camera memory card.

But I tell you, most internet cafes won't allow you to run any applications from your own USB drive.
