Hi my name is Tammy and I am from very sunny Australia, Mildura. I am very, very new to chat rooms etc so please be patient ! My partner, Craig, and myelf want to travel OS (first time travellers) and would love to hear any ideas/info on places like Thailand. We have 2 young children 1 & 4 and would love to actually enjoy a holiday with them (no fights, etc...). Craig loves scuba diving which he got into while we lived in Mackay, North Queensland, which we miss. I love my horses (competition) and generally animals. I would love to experience different cultures but we are not all that keen on hustle & bustle. Anyone have any ideas?? Would be greatly appreciated as there is so much on the net it gets a bit scary.

Welcome, Tammy! Wave

We have a forum specifically for 'Family Travel' and so I'm moving your post there. Hopefully someone will be able to pick up on it there.

Hope you enjoy it here,

Aaron

HI Tammy

I don't know if we can help. My husband and I run a 42 ft catamaran charter boat which operates in the Mergui Archipelago, near Thailand and easily accessible from Phuket or Ranong. You could in fact combine a trip with a stay in Phuket. We can do different sorts of charters but we often do dive/kayak/snorkel/explore charters. We are both PADI dive instructors. We would be happy to take a family on board, in fact it can be ideal for a family with a diving member who never usually gets to dive or a non-diving family member who doesn't see much of their diving partner! You may want to check us out. We are on the Kidsintow website, alternatively you can see us at www.1098.ws

Kind regards

Sarah

Hello Sarah and welcome to the forums. Wave

Thanks for completing your profile. We have a thread for new members to introduce themselves, so please sign in here.
Remember to use “Post Reply” to add your message to the thread as using “New Topic” will result in confusion. Confused

I'd like to know what it is like operating a tourist business in Myanmar. We hear a lot about whether or not to do business with the regime, and I'm curious to know whether your business supports the regime financially, or whether (being based in Thailand) you can avoid making the Burmese government richer than it is! I hope it's the latter.

Dan.
