New category suggestion

What about a new category for "responsible" or "eco" travel? Hopefully the fact I have an axe to grind doesn't rule this post as out of line.

Sounds like a good idea to me but I'm just a newbie here reading through lots of posts.

It seems to me like alot lot of people would be interested. However I would not term it "responsible" travel which implies that everyone who travels any other way is irresponsible but rather "eco-friendly" travel.

I was hesitant to suggest your title for the category as that could like as though I was abusing the spirit of the forum's rules - because of my website's name.

There's a debate in the "eco-friendly"/"responsible" travel world about what the correct terminology should be. "eco-friendly" is thought by some as being meaningless while "responsible" is considered by some to be more precise.

To me it's all a matter of common sense and common usage - provided it's legal and doesn't mislead or offend. I prefer "eco-friendly" (with or without the hyphen) and feel "responsible" is too stern and even likely to put people off.

Whatever it's called, the topic itself seems to be gathering quite a head of steam with lots of practical ideas, suggestions and issues to discuss. Any takers?
