Travelling in Europe in August?

Hi there. As I mentioned in my introduction (in the introduction section), i'm looking to maybe go travelling in Western Europe (France, Spain, Germany, Italy etc) for a couple of weeks, possibly by inter rail. Probably leaving about 5th August (?). I'm very easy going and not mad, and could probably use someone who has a vague idea about the whole thing, or not. Thanks!
