I happen to have the opportunity to travel with my 12 year old son a lot last year and about three times since the year began. You have to include them in the packing process because there will be stuff that they want to bring as entertainment and for their personal use. Allow them to open up to you before and during the flight. This is the perfect opportunity to speak to your child and to learn more about them. I find it kind of fun to travel with my son. I found out how much smarter he really is and you will too.

I think travelling with kids provides very good oppotunity to communicate with them and teach them a lot of things in the real life.

I agree. Travelling with children opens their minds to the wider world and provides a great opportunity to bond. Wherever you go and however much you spend it can be a great adventure.

We travel everywhere with our kids. They are the best travel companions we've ever had. They've been backpacking since they were 7 they carry all their own gear and never complain and they just love it. They are 10 and 11 now and soak up all the delights that travel offers.

I can't wait until my kids will be a bit older and start doing few real adventures. They are quite adaptable but are still very young (3yrs and 8 months).

Any suggestions?

ehi guys.. I would love to travel East (India, Nepal, mongolia...) but I am a new-born mam...My son is only 7 months... How much shall I wait for before planning to go? What are the dangers of a trip like this? I do not like 'all inclusive' packages... or tour operator that much.... Any suggestions?
Thanks...

Kids travel is really helpful to parents to understand your children widely. Also Kids have great opportunity to explore and jazz the world and open minds with parents.

Very Happy

My parents have always traveled with me. From a few months old until now, they took me everywhere they went. I think traveling played a huge part in shaping me into who I am today. You are all very correct-- traveling does open your mind, broaden your horizons, and it's a portal of knowledge. I think one of the best things a parent can do for a child is to take them to different places to see and experience the people, culture, and history. As challenging as it may be, there's a way to overcome them. Just takes a little more work and patience : )

i think traveling with kids--your kids, nephews, nieces, etc-- is a great opportunity to open up the world to them--for lack of a better phrase.

kids tend to be wrapped in this bubble. exposing them to new places, activities, foods motivates so much great conversation and bonding. i have to admit my nephew is a bit timid, especially when it comes to food. but my rule is, you have to try it at least 7 times. if you don't like it still, then you don't have to eat any more of it!
