Have had a couple of short breaks in Scotland this past fortnight, so thought I'd better update again. We were in Crieff again a week ago, and had a relaxing time just going on short walks. Weather was fantastic.
Last weekend the weather was less kind to us and we were on the Mull of Galloway. We visited Scotland's southernmost point (which is in fact south of northern cities in England such as Carlisle and Durham) and stayed near a village called Drummore. This is the southernmost village in Scotland too.
Took a number of pictures but this one of my wife and elder son is probably the pick of the bunch...
This is an area that doesn't seem to be very heavily promoted in Scotland, but has quite a bit to offer - particularly if the weather is kind to you. The coastline at the southern tip is particularly dramatic with coastal cliffs and a RSBP centre, café/visitor attraction and lighthouse that you can visit (some only in season). Would recommend it for a short break.

SW Scotland is certainly a nice part of the world. A friend of mine used to live in village called Stoneykirk, near Stranraer. Spent many weekends up there. A wee dram was often needed to see you through the cold evenings
One picturesque small coastal village I remember is Portpatrick. Reminds me of the setting of the childrens programme, Ballermory (spelling?). _________________ http://www.charmingvillas.net/

I haven't updated this in ages...
Anyway, I went to Crete last month and here's a few shots from the trip:

Private beach at Agios Nikolaos
An old church near Agios Nikolaos
Getting a little choppy...
Our 'room' here (on two floors) had its own pool also... by day:

Looking good, Paul. Although the first page did spam me asking for a password to your site, not sure why! _________________ [Cheap car hire prices for all your destinations]{Blog} |

It's been a while since I last updated this 'blog'.
Just back from a skiing holiday in St. Moritz. I'm not a skier but it's something we wanted to introduce our boys to so they could 'hold their own' at it, so to speak. Apparently if you don't ski before you're 14, you've essentially not got much hope of ever being a good skier. That would explain a thing or two about my abilities!
Also this year we've been to Tenerife, and last year we had some great trips, too. Jura in the western isles of Scotland was particularly memorable - we had the most fantastic week's weather which made it all the more enjoyable.
I'll try and get round to posting some pictures in due course... _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions
