I live on a 50 ft. sail boat with my husband and two cats in Florida. We own a company in Pennsylvania, but manage the company from the boat (wherever that may be). We enjoy sailing and often move the boat to different places and stay for several months at a time. The kitties do not do well off-shore due to shifty weather patterns (frankly, I don't either), so I travel ahead and meet the boat on the other end. I often need help doing that - especially on airlines. I am fun loving, energetic, open minded, and love to make new friends. Linda |

Hi Linda and welcome!
Where is your boat right now, and how far do you tend to travel from wherever you regard as home?!

Oops!
Just looked at your request for a person to accompany you and the cats to St. Thomas, which partially answers my question.
Still curious about how far you go, and (now) whether Miami is home or a temporary place to moor the boat.

Hi again, Linda... I think your our first registered member living on a boat... welcome!
In addition to Dan's questions, I'm also interested as to how you're logging into the forums - are you using a satellite connection?
Regards

Right now we are in St. Augustine. I plan to drive with the cats to Miami so we can catch a non-stop flight direct to Saint Thomas. My final destination will be Tortola. Plan to take a ferry from Saint Thomas so the cats don't get too stressed out.

I am totally wireless. I use Verizon Network Express service which gives me unlimited internet access. It's not bad! Quite reliable actually. Coverage is not everywhere, but just about. I like it. Sure beats trying to get a land line at every marina.
Thanks for your interest.
Cheers! |

Well hello to the group! I'm embarking on my search for the perfect Scottish vacation and fell into this site. I plan to peek around and see what there is to see. I'm living right near the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado, US...as an avid skier that works quite well for me. Oh I'm Lisa by the way and I promise I'll take a look around before I go asking questions that may already be addressed in these forums.

Hi there -- I'm new!
My name is Jo, I live in Cambridge, UK and am very happy to offer advice to anyone interested in coming here - it's a great place!
I intend to be lurking on this site for the coming months, as I have several trips coming up. I have been asked to be a bridesmaid for a friend of mine, so I have a hen night to organise (initial thoughts: Scotland). My boyfriend is best man and he has asked me to organise the stag night (they want to go to Budapest). Then, the wedding will be in Las Vegas, which I am really, really looking forward to!
So lots for me to learn! (And lots of money to save up!)

Lisa and Jo... welcome to you both!
Our community is growing steadily now. Hope you are able to find some like-minded people here. You'll find we're a friendly bunch, I like to think...

I've just joined. This is a very unique site.
My background: I'm a Galveston, TX, USA native with a few years' background as an independent travel agency affiliate. That has allowed me to keep my *day job* as a technology transactions attorney.
Travel and tourism are close to my heart, having been reared in a community that depends greatly on this industry for its economic wellbeing. Its business cycles can be surprising at times (Galveston's gaming industry prospered last century during the US Great Depression).
The effect of electronic commerce on this industry continues to amaze me. Despite the myriad "dot-bomb" technology business failures that we're read about, and certain well-publicized international instabilities over the past 2 1/2 years, the travel industry continues impressive growth via the Web.
I look forward to becoming more familiar with the Aardvark community and its objectives. _________________ OnlineTravel4U.com ...... *Free* member advantages ...... Download and use free *Boarding Pass* software ...... Lowest travel website fares in just 1 click. |

Greetings Doyle,
I'm sure that the forum members could benefit from your travel perspectives in Michigan. With Northwest Airlines' new expansion in Detroit, the travel business must be benefitting. I'm curious to know about the growth of resort activity in northern Michigan, as well as the tourism impact of the gaming industry in the state. _________________ OnlineTravel4U.com ...... *Free* member advantages ...... Hi there,
I'm new and I live in the UK - Yorkshire. I usually take holidays in the Lakes but am just about to start exploring as my boyfriend is in the process of getting a passport for our honeymoon.
I just came on after searching on google and after receiving an amazingly quick reply to my problem will be coming back!
Thanks for a great site!

Welcome again, Emma.
You should find you have a lot in common with a number of the members here. We have a strong Cumbria and Yorkshire contingent here, and there's one or two that have recently honeymooned also.
Enjoy
Aaron
