| Your honeymoon has to be very special as it is the ultimate holiday of a lifetime. Your honeymoon destination does not have to be in the beach somewhere, there is a lot of other romantic gateways however I have noticed and heard with many people that beach vacation for honeymooners are thus far the best. Here are some of this year’s top honeymoon vacations, whether by the beach or not, a honeymoon is as good as the couple that is celebrating their love and new beginnings, so in all honesty it really does not matter where you are as long as you together. The top six destinations from my opinion are: Palace Royal, Gran Canaria, Angsana Riads, Morocco, Riu Arecas, Tenerife, Kefaluka Resort Turkey, Daios Cove, Crete and last but not least Western Cape / Cape Town South Africa. I would like to know from you if you have been in one these places for honeymoon or otherwise and how your experience was like, and if you would go back. |

The Western Cape certainly is a great place to go for honeymoons. It's an extremely diverse region, you're talking about an area of around 50,000 sq miles so there is an incredible amount to do and to see.
Of course the main attraction for many is Cape Town, the most visited tourist hot spot in Africa and for good reason. The views of Table Mountain are fabulous and a gondola ride to the summit could be a romantic highlight of any trip. You've got the V&A waterfront, Robben Island, the botanical gardens and countless museums, galleries and architectural treats.
Away from the hustle and bustle though you can just as easily find a quiet corner along the coast, perhaps around Plettenberg bay or nestle up in amongst the Winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
I personally think nothing beats the bright lights of Cape Town but whether its adventure of relaxation the Western Cape is a great place to honeymoon! |

Why this particular selection of hotels/resorts, Justin...? I haven't actually stayed in any of them but am familiar with a few. I know the Adeje area quite well and have stayed in a number of the top hotels there... I'm just curious as to why you pick out Riu Arecas. It's 9th out of 35 hotels in Adeje (not so great) and I'd have thought there were better contenders for honeymooners such as the adults-only El Mirador. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions

Ireland is a popular honeymoon destination, with lots of different accommodation types - and the opportunity to snuggle in front of a romantic open fire in a luxury manor house and grand castle as or an amazing countryside hotel and quaint B&B.

I think poul is right. Why this particular selection of hotels/resorts? I think also that honeymoon's happiness doesn't depend on any specific hotel or resorts. _________________ Safari in Tanzania |

Spain is never wrong, and specially not the southern part, Costa del Sol.
Take a look at this Hotel:

Not been to any of those particular resorts but my choices would be:
- St Lucia
- Bali
- Anguilla
- Kefalonia
- Thailand
- New Zealand |

Have you considered a romantic travel to Minorca or Formentera?
These two islands are located in north-east of Spain and are like a natural paradise. You can also stay some days at famous Majorca or Ibiza islands.
There is no best way to enjoy these islands than sailing a yacht.
