Correspondents say the number of rabies deaths in mainland China this year is already nearly four times higher than the 349 attributed to the Sars virus which caused panic throughout the country earlier this year.
Rabies killed 1,297 people up to the end of September this year, compared to 1,003 deaths reported by the Health Ministry for the whole of 2002, the China Daily reported.

I didn't make my point with statistics, but somewhere in one of my previous rambles I postulated that Aids, Malaria and many other diseases cuause far more death and suffering worldwide then SARS has.
Perspective is a great leveller. |

I have rambled on about this in other posts.
SARS was the most stupid health scare for a long time and in my opinion is a good reason for disbanding the WHO.
How many millions of pounds, dollars, etc of damage did they do to countries around the world through loss of tourism which was totally unnecessary? _________________ David
